It’s cold!

It’s cold!

I took this video just before the new year when we had a really cold snap here in our area. It was -30C for a couple of weeks, but it felt like longer. This was also the week Blended Amish Blessings hit the shelves! (And in the second week, it made the Publishers Weekly Bestsellers list at #19!)

Weird things happen in -30C, mostly to do with my car. The defroster in the rear window of my car stopped working. That was great timing. ๐Ÿ˜‰ A tire started leaking rather quickly, (something that is never a problem in warmer weather) and that had to be fixed, too. We also had to do the vehicle shuffle–trading which vehicle got to be plugged in to keep them both starting in that kind of cold.

But life keeps moving! It’s Canada, after all.

I hope you’ve picked up a copy of Blended Amish Blessings if you saw it in the stores, or if you do your book shopping online!

Happy reading!

  1. Oh myyyyy, Patricia! I remember THAT cold! I used to live in Northern Manitoba. I may have already told you that I was stunned when we arrived at the Mall in Thompson and there were posts at every parking spot so you could plug in your (block heaters) Vehicles! I grew up.in the Country and my Dad drove the School Bus for 33 years. It too had a block.heater, so.Dad had a very.long extension cord that he ran from the house out to the Bus! Bless you.& I hope you.were able.to.get your.rear defrost fixed and a reliable tire!

    • Northern Manitoba is colder than us! You understand the block heaters and plugging in. ๐Ÿ™‚ I did finally get the rear defrost fixed, and the tire. So (fingers crossed) we should be able to finish up the winter with no more fixes!
