A really good dad

The other day, I was helping my husband wash his work van, and I snapped a picture of this license plate thingy we got him a few years ago for his birthday.

All the guys at work wanted to know where we got it. It was on Amazon–no big secret there–but it wasn’t available anymore when his coworkers tried to get one. So he was the only guy who had it. That made it an even better gift, I have to say!

As our son gets older, I’m grateful to have a really good father at my side in this whole parenting thing. And here are a few things I’m thankful for, specifically:

  1. When he says, “What did your mom say, and why aren’t you doing it?”
  2. When he takes our son out to do guy stuff together–fixing things, hair cuts, shopping for things, learning new skills…
  3. When we look at each other, all filled with pride at the great kid we’re raising.
  4. When I can see my husband’s face, or his sense of humour in our son, and I’m just so filled with love for our little family.

But sometimes I’m just thankful when my husband and I are alone, washing his work van, enjoying each other’s company. I so glad I have him with me on this ride.

I love it! I totally agree πŸ’― %. My hubby was a wonderful daddy to our 3 sons. Your hubby sounds like a keeper for sure & certain..(amish phrase πŸ˜‰). The dad gift is cool. My daddy was a telephone lineman. Looks like power lines or phone lines. Anyways. Be blessed πŸ™Œ

    1. There is nothing better than a husband who helps keep things in line at home! πŸ™‚ And who works hard, too. I’m very blessed!
