I love them!

When I was a girl, my parents used to buy one jar of olives at a time. This is a normal thing to do. I was taught that people put two or three olives on their plate. And the olives needed to last. They were for the whole family, and not to be eaten as a side dish.

The problem? I loved olives intensely! I was also a pretty well-behaved kid and I abided by the 2-3 olive rule, and if I managed to get 5 olives, I felt pretty lucky.

As an adult, I’m the only one in our home who likes olives. (Ahem… loves olives.) But I realized that I could buy a jar of olive just for me. And then it occurred to me, that I didn’t have to stop at one jar. I could buy two! I could buy two bottles a week if I wanted to, and I could stand over the sink with a fork and a jar of olives and eat as many olives as I wanted.

Which I now do, with zero guilt. I love them! And sometimes you need to give yourself a harmless treat and just enjoy it.

For me it’s olives… but did you know that absolutely no one polices these things? It’s life changing when you realize it! I’ve had several years of joyful olive consumption. It really just makes me happy! What is your special treat that you indulge in?

While you’re enjoying something just for you, why not take a look at my books? I write sweet, swoony romance with heroes with noble character and heroines with minds of their own. Oh… and there’s lot of delicious food in my books!
