Dieting as a married frog was turning out to be more difficult than George had anticipated. First of all, if he dieted, Amelia had to deal with his grumpiness. And then she got her feelings hurt if she thought that he wanted her to join him on the dieting. It wasn’t worth the hassle, especially since she insisted on cooking still, and the smell of her wonderful food flooded the whole apartment.
So instead, George decided to do pushups. He couldn’t do very many to start, but if Amelia poked her head into the dining room where he’d pushed aside all the furniture, he’d keep on doing them… even if his arms trembled and he had a heart attack!
Because with Amelia watching George HAD to be the strongest frog she knew!

Amelia’s grandfather was an African Bullfrog. The drums had been a very important part of her ancestry, and one day Amelia pulled out the drum her grandfather had sent to her when she was just a tadpole, and she tried her hand at drumming.
The sound was lovely and deep, and it echoed through their whole apartment!
The problem was, while Amelia’s grandfather was a frog with wonderful rhythm, Amelia was not, and her attempts at drumming resulted in the downstairs neighbour thumping his ceiling with a broom and hollering for some peace and quiet.
“Am I not very good at this, George?” Amelia asked. “I should be! This is a family tradition.”
“Well…” George sucked in a deep breath.
“Well?” Amelia asked breathlessly.
“You’re just so pretty, I forgot what I was going to say,” George said. “Do you want to take a walk with me?”
Amelia did want to take a walk, and the subject was dropped.

That weekend, Amelia caught a cold. She had sniffles and a sore throat, and she felt generally miserable. So Amelia and George sat on the couch together to watch a movie.
Amelia wanted to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie. George wanted to watch Die Hard. But since Amelia was sick, Amelia won.
“But if we’re going to watch this, you can’t fall asleep,” George said.
“Of course not!” Amelia said, and she wiped her nose on a tissue.
But as soon as the movie started, and they were introduced to the heroine who was a businesswoman from the city, and the hero who was a carpenter from her home town who was tasked with procuring the town’s Christmas tree, George heard the soft sound of snoring coming from his wife.
He reached for the remote.
“I’m watching it still,” Amelia murmured.
He pulled his hand back. The snoring resumed.
George sighed. It looked like he was about about to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie after all.
