I love this painting. There is something about that meeting in a turret that feels so familiar to me. I’ve never been in a turret, or an old castle. I’ve never fallen in love with a forbidden knight… but there is just something about the longing between them that remind me of my husband and I. I know that feeling.

It is called Meeting on the Turret Stairs, and it is by Frederic William Burton in 1864. And I love it so much that I’m going to frame this print and hang it somewhere in our home.
