
It’s nice to be reminded that there are very good things that are outside of your control. Like plants. I mean, yes, we water them. And we might take them in at night if the temperature is going to drop, but other than that, a plant grows and blossoms and makes pods and berries and fruit all on its own! It’s lovely! It’s relaxing. It’s NOT BECAUSE OF ME!
I’m a writer, so I need that from time to time. Books don’t work that way. They stubbornly refuse to write themselves. But plants will grow when I’m not looking. And that’s therapeutic. They lower my blood pressure.



Now, just in case you think that I’m some sort of green-thumbed gardener, I am not. I buy these already potted. I might start a book from scratch, but someone else has started these for me! I enjoy them all the same.
