George and Amelia would like me to pass along their news! Their baby girl was born in the wee hours of the morning, and Amelia and George are smitten with her.
She is absolutely perfect from the top of her head to the tip of her tail.
Her names is Brigette Elizabeth Frog, and she is very loved!
George wants you to know that Amelia and the pollywog are both doing well after the delivery.
George and Amelia and exhausted and exuberant! They are due home from the hospital on Wednesday.

When Amelia, George, and Brigette got home from the hospital, George made Amelia comfortable in the armchair, and he bustled about making sure they had everything ready in the apartment.
Amelia looked down at little Brigette in awe. She was so tiny and so perfect, and if Amelia was right, Brigette looked just a little bit like George in the eyes.
“Isn’t she perfect?” Amelia said.
George bustled past, carrying a box of baby gifts that had somehow materialized while they were gone.
“She’s absolutely perfect!” he agreed. “Where will you put her?”
“What do you mean?” Amelia asked.
“When you put her down,” George said. “Where will you put her? Maybe on this little quilt?”
“No!” Amelia said. “I am never putting her down! Never!”
“Oh,” George said, and he considered this for a moment. “Never?”
“Not yet,” she amended. “I don’t want to think about it. She’s just so little and precious and… and… ours!”
That was fair enough. George put a quilt down on the couch all the same, just in case.
Brigette was wonderful, and he was so proud, he felt like he could burst!

Eventually, Amelia did have to put Brigette down. She needed a diaper change, and this was the very first diaper change of their time alone as parents.
“Should we have asked my mother to come help us?” Amelia asked, a quiver in her voice.
“No!” George said. “We told everyone we wanted a full week all to ourselves to bond as a little family. We are two educated, adult frogs. I’m sure we can figure out a diaper.”
Brigette, however, didn’t seem to know that her parents were educated adults, because she liked being nude and thrashed her tail around in delight the minute she was out of her diaper.
It took four hands, two adult brains, three diapers, and a little bit of Jujitsu training, although George would never admit to it, to get tiny Brigette into her diaper, but once they had the tabs secured, Amelia and George were very proud of themselves.
“See?” George said, breathing hard. “Easy peasy. We’ve got this.”
And then Brigette made a cute, little scrunchy face, and while her parents looked down at her in delight and admiration, she filled another diaper.
Little Brigette is home! It has been such a long wait for her arrival, and I don’t know about you, but I’m thrilled that she is here!
