I’m not naturally an athletic person. I’m clumsy. I can walk through a doorway and knock my shoulder, just because I aimed wrong. I trip over my own feet. I’m one of those people that if you ever see me break into a run, it’s because something is chasing me. Mr. Johns is the opposite. He’s naturally quite athletic. He likes working out, and he picks up new sports easily. He teases me and says I look like a chicken when I run. He’s probably right! Luckily, he also thinks I’m pretty.
BUT–it does help to get some regular exercise! I feel cheerier. I don’t run, mind you. I spare the general public from having to see that. But I do like to walk around the track. I listen to podcasts as I walk, which helps to pass the time.

Sometimes, Mr. Johns and I will get up really early on the weekend and go to the gym together. He’ll run around the track while I walk, and he just keeps on passing me. 🙂 At the end of our time at the gym, we’ve gotten some exercise (some of us more than others.)
This is one thing in my control that can help me stay cheery during long winter months. Keeping moving helps me to stay more optimistic when the weather is dreary. I’m actually enjoying it!
I hope you’re finding ways to stay cheery, too. And if my books can help with that, I do have quite a backlist you can look through. I wish you lots of quality time with quality books… You deserve it!
Happy reading!
