The Frog saga continues…

There is a time in the late afternoon, after Amelia’s work is done, and before George gets home from the office… and that time is the Lonesome Hour.
She looks out the window, waiting for her frog to come home to her.
It is about this hour that every day George texts her with a heart.

When you are a frugal newlywed couple, date night sometimes consists of sitting on the bookshelf and talking about their days.
Amelia: Georgie, I’m editing one of Patricia’s most romantic books. And it made me wonder… If there was heaven and earth between us, how far would you go to get to me?
George senses a trap. He’s never very good at these games.
George: What I want to know is why there is so much between us when you’ve got a perfectly lovely little home with me. All you have to do is come home, and we have a pleasant supper, and we play a game of chess, and we snuggle up in bed to read. If there were heaven and earth between us, I think my feelings would be hurt, because all you need to do is come home. I certainly wouldn’t have gone anywhere!
Amelia: Oh, George….
George is very pragmatic, and this is one of the things that Amelia loves about him.

Amelia sits at the vanity, looking at her face in the mirror. She leans a little closer, and tugs at the corners of her eyes, then at the corners of her lips.
Amelia: George! I think I’m getting lines on my face!
George (from the other room): Pish posh! No, you aren’t!
She looks a little closer again. Well, maybe she it isn’t so obvious after all. George makes her feel pretty.
