Nothing makes me feel warmer or fuzzier than coming across a nice old hardcover book. I don’t always want to read them. This book, for example, is just a grade school reader published in 1949.
Nothing terribly important. But it was read by school children, and it was a part of their lives long before I was ever born, and I love that sense of history… even if it’s rather recent history.

Being published in 1949, this book is 74 years old this year, and I can’t help but think that one day I might have grandchildren or great-grandchildren who find an old school reader interesting. By then, it might be a book that’s 100 years old.
So when I find these books, I pick them up and tuck them safely into my bookshelf, because one day they’ll be older still, and perhaps there will be a great-granddaughter one day who will have a heart like I do, and she’ll be filled with warm fuzzies by holding an old book, too.
If you’d like to check out my books, I have a big backlist of titles you might not have read yet. I hope you’ll take a look. Also, if you’d like to keep up with my book releases, be entered for a monthly giveaway, and get a peek into my world that I don’t post anywhere else, sign up for my monthly newsletter. I’d love to stay connected!
Happy reading!
