George and Amelia sat in their favorite tree. This tree had been part of the last year of their marriage, and they’d sat in it, fallen out of it, had deep talks about the future from its branches.
Now, they looking at a big adventure coming up.
“Are you excited?” George asked. Because he was excited, and nervous, and wondering if this was just too crazy of an idea after all. He had a wife and a baby now, and they were moving to Pennsylvania!
“I’m kind of scared!” Amelia admitted. “We’ll be so far from family.”
But if Amelia was scared, he couldn’t tell her that he was scared, too. Besides, it made him feel a little braver, if he was protecting his wife.
“I’ll take care of you,” George said, and he gave her a kiss.
“You always do!” she replied with a smile. “Our anniversary is coming up, you know.”
“In just a few days,” he said. “We’ll be moving when we should be going out to dinner or something.”
“We can stop for ice cream,” Amelia said.
“Is that enough?” George asked.
“Oh, George,” Amelia said. “Write me one of your love letters. Those are better than any present or fancy dinner out.”
From down below, they saw Patricia Johns park her car. She got out and grabbed a bag of groceries from her trunk.
“Let’s ask Patricia and Mr. Johns to come in for tea tonight,” Amelia said. “For old time’s sake.”
George nodded. “Yes, let’s.”
Everything was changing, but the most important things were staying exactly the same.

On moving day, George and Amelia stood in their empty apartment looking at the piles of boxes. The moving truck would come and cart them away, and they’d all meet up again in Pennsylvania.
But the apartment looked sad and empty, and Amelia’s sniffled back a tear.
“This is it,” George said.
“This is it…” Amelia sighed. “We were so happy here, George.”
“We’ll be so happy in the Froggy Amish B&B, too,” he replied.
“I know,” she said. “But it’s a little sad saying goodbye to a place I loved so well.”
And George understood. He’d loved this place, too. Outside, Patricia Johns and Mr. Johns were chatting with Amelia’s and George’s parents. Everyone had come for one purpose, and Amelia and George were putting it off.
“All right,” Amelia said, straightening. “It’s time for us to give some hugs and get moving.”
George took Brigette out of his wife’s arms and he kissed her plump cheek. He felt a little braver holding the pollywog, too.
And they opened the door and headed outside. It was time to hug and squeeze the people they loved most.

George and Amelia felt a rush of excitement as George stepped on the gas and they the wind blew in their faces.
This was Brigette’s first road trip, and it was also her first big cross-continent move. There were going to be a lot of firsts coming up!
But Amelia felt safe next to George, because she knew that whatever happened, he’d be right by her side, her loyal champion.
And George felt gallant next to Amelia and Brigette, because they were his family, and he was excited to have an adventure just the three of them.
And Brigette just liked the feeling of wind in her face, and the passing colours of the trees that had started to drop their leaves.
They were headed to a fresh adventure in Pennsylvania’s Amish Country. And they sincerely hoped that all of their friends would come and stay a night or two in the Froggy Amish B&B. They’d be guaranteed a comfortable stay, delicious food, and line dried sheets.
And they would very likely join in on a few Amish adventures, too!
