‘Tis the season of early sunsets, chilly rain, changing leaves and dramatic stories! I have a real gothic streak deep inside of me… and I love nothing more than breaking my own heart with Wuthering Heights, The Hunchback of Notre Dame or Edgar Allan Poe poetry.
I love reading about draughty mansions, rugged landscapes, and heart wrenching family histories that linger in the very wood of the place. In real life, I don’t have anything terribly old–except a few dramatic family tales that are half-history, half-lore of our own–and I do love some windswept stories to take me away.
So when my author buddy, Belle Calhoune, told me about a classic romance author I’d never read before, I jumped on her very favorite book by Phyllis A. Whitney.

I can recommend this one if you enjoy these old school romances. I sure do! It’s a sweet romance, so doesn’t go beyond a kiss, and the suspense is wonderful! Perfect for cozying up with on a chilly, fall day. I’m looking forward to reading more of Phillis A. Whitney’s books.
Oh, and while you’re at it, look up Belle Calhoune’s books, too! She’s a fabulous Love Inspired author who writes sweet, contemporary, mostly inspirational romance. So not gothic, but you’ll be glad you looked her up, all the same!
Happy reading!
