I sure am! I love the summer, but I’m always ready for the cooler weather when it comes. I wanted to let you know about a new giveaway posted on my Facebook page. This one is with a debut Amish fiction author, Wendy Rich Stetson, and this is your chance to get your hands on her new release.
Mr. Johns put together my birthday present yesterday. I’d asked for a new bookshelf. For now, it’s holding photos, but give me some time, and I’ll have it overflowing with books soon! So I thought I’d share a picture of my newest shelf with you, because it makes me happy. 🙂
I hope you’re all enjoying some cooler weather (if it cools off where you are!)
I just love putting together packages for my giveaway winners. It’s fun! Every winner receives a signed book, wrapped up with ribbon and tied with a bow. I also include a knitted surprise… which these days tends to be a little knitted bookmark, knitted with much love and the thinnest yarn I can find. 🙂
The knitted bookmarks are so fun to make! Each one is made by hand by Yours Truly, normally while sitting with my family in the living room and half watching a TV show. I use them at home for my own reading, too. 🙂 Each one is unique, and knitted with love.
Of course, I also include a card for my winner… and I truly enjoy writing them out.
I’ve been getting some old family photos from my aunt lately, and I just love collecting them. I came across this photo of my grandparents on my mother’s side, and I can’t tell you how much I love it! I’ve written before about my family history on my father’s side, which is the more conservative Mennonite branch of the family. This is my mother’s side–the wild Catholics. 😉
My grandparents were pretty newly married in this photo. My grandfather was a miner. Isn’t he a good looking guy? I love the way they’re sitting–the passion between them is pretty evident. They were incredibly close until they died within a year of each other in their late fifties.
I just thought I’d share that with you. Have you ever considered all the love stories and dramas it took to bring you into the world? These are the things keeping me busy over here in Alberta, Canada. I hope you’re all doing well, and that you’re enjoying the tail end of summer as much as I am.
My Second Chance Club miniseries is very close to my heart. I love these stories! They’re about a group of divorced friends who have a dinner club that meets regularly at the Mountain Springs Lodge in Colorado. Set in the Rocky Mountains, perched on the edge of a glacier fed lake, these stories tell about a special group of women as they support each other, encourage each other, and provide the bedrock for getting back on their feet once more.
There is Melanie, who divorced her cheating ex after fifteen years of marriage and after raising his kids from his first marriage for him, thinking that she was sacrificing for a marriage that would last. The problem is, even though her ex is firmly in the past, her heart is still with the kids.
There’s Jen, who came back to her home town with her preteen son in order to open an art gallery, but things aren’t coming together quite the way she hoped. Her son doesn’t want to start fresh in this tiny, mountain town, and he misses his father who is already moving on with a much younger woman.
There is Taryn, delightedly pregnant at thirty-nine with a baby she never expected. She tried for years to become a mother, and only after her divorce, and after a one night stand she hoped to put into the past, does she get her deepest wish. The part that wasn’t part her of her plan? Coming face-to-face with the father of this baby that she’d hoped to never see again.
And there is Angelina, who divorced the Uber-wealthy love of her life after one year of marriage, and since then has grown herself and her career into something truly phenomenal on her own.
The other women in the group include Renata whose husband tried to move his mistress into the house, Belle who used to be a model but it the first one to find the beauty in her friends, and Gayle whose husband came out of the closet after thirty-five years of marriage leaving her wondering what she’d been missing out on all those years that she just assumed were normal.
These women have been through enough, and they aren’t willing to settle for less than real, true, deep love this time around.
These books are probably the best writing I’ve ever done! They have a touch of women’s fiction, a lot of romance, and mature issues and problems that real women face. But can I tell you how hard these books are for me to market? They are probably my best kept secret–and not on purpose, either!
The fourth and final book hits the shelves this December, and I just love this story SO much! Finally, the owner of the Mountain Springs Resort, Angelina Cunningham, gets her Happily Ever After, and I can tell you, when I wrote the end of this one, wrapping up the miniseries, I had tears in my eyes.
I’m going to miss these women!
So without further ado, I want to share my newest cover with you.
I hope you’ll pick this one up when it comes out, and the previous three books in the miniseries, too! If you love mature heroines, deep, emotional romance, and the complicated lives of characters you’ll never forget, this miniseries is for you!
ON A PERSONAL NOTE…
Last week, we went to the Bountiful Farmer’s Market, which is local, and we had a great time! But I’d gone there specifically for one store–Page Turners Bookshop. The owner there makes flowers out of old classic books that were falling apart, and I wanted to get some for my desk. Because really, how appropriate is that? 🙂 And I just love them! These are the things that make me happy.
If you’d like to order some of your own, they’re very reasonably priced, and she operates an Etsy shop as well!
I hope you are all enjoying this last bit of summer!
I’m always thrilled to get a new box of books, and I got my very first copies of Snowbound with the Amish Bachelordelivered. These are the true large print, so I only get three of them, but soon I’ll get my big box of the regular mass market books soon, and I’ll be including those in some upcoming Facebook giveaways! 🙂 If you don’t already follow me on Facebook, definitely come by and give me a like. We have all sorts of giveaways where I team up with other sweet romance authors to introduce you to some truly fantastic books.
This one hits the shelves everywhere in October, and I can’t wait to share this fourth book in my Redemption’s Amish Legacies miniseries. If you haven’t picked up the other three yet, I hope you’ll snap them up now! These have been very popular with my readers, and have all been on the Publishers Weekly bestseller’s list.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE…
I finally got to drive out and see my very dear friend’s new acreage–and it was just amazing out there! So quiet, and relaxing. Our families get along so well, and that meant that she and I got to sit down and chat face-to-face for the first time in ages.
I took a few pictures so you can see how lovely it is out there!
While I’m catching up with friends and hammering away on my newest book, I hope you are all enjoying your summer!
Life in the Johns’s home has been busy! I’ve been writing hard on a Heartwarming story that will be the very first to feature Amish elements. That’s really exciting for me! I’ll give you more information about that book when I have it, but I have finished the manuscript and handed it in… It will be releasing in March 2022.
AMISH BAD BOYS
I’m so excited about the bestselling status of WIFE ON HIS DOORSTEP, but don’t forget that I also have another Amish romance out this month called THE PREACHER’S DAUGHTER! And I absolutely love this story about an Amish bad boy come home. He’s tough, he’s damaged, and he loves harder than any man she’s ever known… If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, please do! I think you’ll enjoy it, too!
ON A PERSONAL NOTE…
I snapped a few pictures of our parrot taking a bath, and I think he’s just the cutest little guy ever! His name is Pichu, but he prefers to be called Baby. In fact, when we first got him, he used to correct me when I called him Pichu. He’s very smart! And that beak is very powerful… I think he’s absolutely adorable when he’s soaking wet, so I tucked the pictures away to share with all of you.
I hope you are all enjoying your summer!
Don’t forget to come by my Facebook page if you’d like to connect with me, or enter to win one of my giveaways. I have a brand new giveaway posted right now! (You’ll find it pinned to the top of my Facebook page.)
With all of the mayhem and excitement of three books releasing this month, I was so thrilled to discover that WIFE ON HIS DOORSTEP landed on the Publisher’s Weekly bestseller list at #18!
It’s just such a thrill to make the list again, and I’m so grateful to all my readers who grabbed a copy and made that possible. I really couldn’t do this job without you. ❤ There is nothing I love more than writing these stories, but if I didn’t have you to enjoy them with me, I wouldn’t be able to do this. I’m eternally grateful for each and every one of you!
If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, it’s on the shelves now, if you’d like to pick up a copy, or order it online!
As a way to make it easier for everyone to win, we’re posting this giveaway on BOTH of our Facebook pages, and you can enter in both places. We’ll each be choosing winners, so that means there will be a winner chosen from her page, and a winner chosen from mine. The winner from my page will get a surprise knitted by me, and the winner from her page will get a surprise knitted by her!
So definitely come by Facebook for this giveaway!
And as always, I have continual giveaways happening on my Facebook page–mostly with Amish fiction. And we have a lot of fun! So if you haven’t yet, come over and give me a follow! 🙂
On a personal note…
Life here in Alberta is staying pretty quiet right now. I’m working on a new book for Harlequin Heartwarming called Deputy Defender that features an Ohio sheriff’s deputy with the witness he’s sheltering in Amish country. This will be the first time that Heartwarming features Amish elements in a story, so I’m excited to be the first there!
Our teenaged son is working on his last month of school from home, and we’re hoping everything will be back to normal again by September. I’m a delight, but I’m pretty sure he’d rather be around friends and teachers next year. LOL!
Mr. Johns and I are working hard, and our time seems to be measured out by weekends relaxing together and food on the table… like my newest batch of super-garlicky pickles! This is as exciting as it gets around here lately, and I’m not complaining about that! I like it quiet in my real life. Drama is definitely reserved for fiction! 🙂
My aunt is just the kindest lady. She thought of me when she was going through some old things, and she figured of anyone, I’d love some miniatures!
And she was so right!
This little set is at least forty years old, but I’m not sure where she got it, or how she came across it. I think it’s just adorable, though. I included a quarter so you can see the size.
Isn’t it adorable? ❤ I couldn’t love it more!
These are the things on my desk while I write. Writing is a very solitary experience. We writers do reach out and try to connect with people, but at the end of the day, it’s just our fingers on the keyboard, and the ideas the fill us up. I do enjoy connecting with readers and other authors on social media, so if you come find me on Facebook, I’m bound to respond. 🙂 I also have very regular giveaways going on over there! If you don’t see one pinned to the top of my page, give it a day or two… one will pop up. That’s a guarantee.
And if you like a romance about a married couple reuniting, Wife on His Doorstep is for you! It’s got all the feel-good romance you could ask for… Coming June 2021! Pre-order it now, and look for it wherever Harlequins are sold!
I am always so happy when a new box of books arrives on my doorstep! And this book is just so pretty. It will hit the shelves in June, but I’ll be using these copies for some upcoming giveaways on my Facebook page, so keep an eye out for that!
This is the third book in my Redemption’s Amish Legacies miniseries. This book can stand alone, but for those of you who have been following the miniseries, this is Amos’s story with his estranged wife, Miriam, they’ve all learned to dread. But she’s not so bad… but ten years apart sure seems to grow a story. Sometimes, it takes a praying grandmother to get a stubborn couple to recognize that love actually is enough!
Can the differences that drove them apart…
ignite a love to make her stay?
When Miriam Lapp arrives unannounced at her estranged husband’s house, she has no intention of staying. But she can’t walk away when Amos’s ailing grandmother needs a woman’s support. She’ll help temporarily, then leave to start her own Amish business. But spending time together makes Miriam and Amos question their past mistakes. Can a once mismatched couple find love ten years later?
I’m so looking forward to my June Heartwarming release, Rocky Mountain Baby. This is a story with a very much wanted unexpected pregnancy, a brooding hero who doesn’t know what he needs until it’s right in front of him, and a group of good friends who make everything good seem possible again.
But mine isn’t the only Heartwarming book coming out in June, and you can buy all four of them together in one box set!
These are the heartwarming, family-centred stories you already love from Harlequin Heartwarming–a brand you can trust to deliver every single time!
I love getting boxes of books! 🙂 Rocky Mountain Baby comes out in June this year, and I’ve just gotten my hands on the printed copies!
This is the third book in my Second Chance Club miniseries about a dinner club of divorced women who get together for friendship and moral support. They help each other through all the difficult patches in life… and help each other see the possibilities of new love. Because life isn’t over at 40!
If you like mountain settings, a gorgeous resort, family drama, fine wine and old friends, then these books are for you!
Rocky Mountain Baby is about a marketing specialist who thought she was infertile during her failed marriage, who finds herself unexpected (and joyfully!) pregnant now that she’s single. This baby isn’t an accident or and “oops.” He’s her miracle! But the father wasn’t meant to be anything but a comfort for one evening. When she comes to the Mountain Springs Resort to do an ad campaign for the owner, she stumbles across the man who fathered her baby… At seven months pregnant, she didn’t think she’d have to deal with this!
I do hope you’ll pick up a copy! I just love this miniseries with mature heroes and heroines finding love again.
