I’m sorry, but it’s cold!

Now, I’m getting flack for this, but I’m in the full Christmas swing. In my defence, it’s cold out there! We’ve got snow, and once we have snow, I need some Christmas sparkle to cheer it up around here. The sun sets at 4:50 pm tonight, for example, and we’re sitting around -10C to -15C. So, chilly… and dark! You’ll have to forgive my craving for carbs and sparkly lights.

Every year, we get a new ornament. In years past, the ornament has been linked to something that interested our son–games, movies, comic book characters… But this year when I took my teenager shopping for our yearly ornament, we chose this guy. πŸ™‚

So I’m starting Christmas, grateful for the promise that Christmas brings. As a Christian, it’s about the birth of a baby who would change absolutely everything. And I’m grateful.

  1. πŸŽ„ I love your new ornament, and even more so, your traditions!
So hard to believe it’s so cold there (still too warm here, (Florida)) and tropical storm predicted in next few days).
Blessings to you and your family! β€οΈπŸ’š

    1. Thank you! πŸ™‚ I know–it’s a big difference this time of year!

  2. I’m trying to figure out how cold it is because we measure the temperature in Fahrenheit in the USA.
But if you’re saying ‘it’s cold” more than once in the past few days, then either you’re thin-skinned, you’re exaggerating or it’s really and truly COLD πŸ₯Ά in your neck of the woods.
I’m hardly ever cold unless I’m out walking in the elements for an extended period of time. All I can say is “ya gotta wear layers of clothing” to stay toasty warm. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Blessings!!!

    1. It’s about 5F. It depends on the time of year. In November, it feels cold because I’m not acclimatized to it yet. Give me a few weeks of this and it’ll feel normal again. But right now? It’s COLD! πŸ™‚

  3. Love your ornament! I ready for Christmas as well. The most wonderful time of the year! And the celebration of the birthday of Jesus, My Savior and King!
    Enjoy my dear!
